  • The First Thing Ever Bought Online Was Marijuana

online marijuanaThe internet has become essential to 60% of the global population and continues to grow in popularity as the years’ pass. You can use the internet to find a new job, do your banking, watch movies, and surf the darknet. It seems that there isn’t anything that you can’t find. It may be surprising to some to know that the first purchase ever made online was actually marijuana.

    Where It All Began

According to several researchers, the first thing that was ever sold over the internet was marijuana. In 1971, two Stanford students at their university artificial intelligence laboratory set up the first commercial transaction with students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Jamie Bartlett was one of the Stanford trailblazers that conducted this exchange but, for the life of me, I could not seem to find any information about the other students involved. Luckily, Bartlett wrote several books that detail this early transaction. There is a bit of controversy as to whether this was the first online sale as they only used the internet to set up the deal. When they met up, they exchanged cash instead of transferring the money online.

    Online CannabisThe Controversy

While this cannabis sale was the earliest online transaction, they did not actually pay over the internet. This has led to controversy over who can make this claim to fame.
1971 – The iconic first online cannabis sale. People claim that it does not count as the first internet sale for a couple of reasons. The first is the fact that money was exchanged in person rather than online. The other is that at the time marijuana was extremely illegal.
1984 – Jane Snowball, a 72-year-old British grandmother, bought her groceries from Tesco online. She was part of an initiative to help the elderly. She used computer technology called
Videotex. It was used on the television and the remote was used to choose between hundreds of options. The order was then sent to Tesco over the phone line. Credit cards weren’t popular at the time though so paid with cash.
1994 – Pizza Hut claims the first thing ever bought online was a large pepperoni and mushroom pizza. In 1994 they launched PizzaNet in Santa Cruz. It was pretty basic but you could go online, input your information, and have a pizza delivered right to your door.
1994 – Dan Kohn, a 21-year-old college student, sold Sting’s CD to a friend in Philadelphia. This is the world’s first secure credit card transaction for a physical good. His friend paid 12.48 plus shipping and received a copy of the disc in the mail a few weeks later.

How The First Online Cannabis Sale Went Down

It may seem improbable that the first online transaction happened as early as 1971. They did not have the same access to the internet as we do now. Today, almost every single device can easily connect to the internet by accessing a global network. In the 1970’s they used something called ARPANET (which would later become the internet). Exchanging data between computers or networks was very hard. The hardest part of this was that there was no universal language to communicate through. Each host had its own programming and login users had to learn this host language to use it. It was rarely used when it was first created.

  • Anxiety – How CBD Can Help

cbd for anxietyAnxiety is the most common mental health disorder worldwide, affecting 1 in 13 people. It can make life debilitating and, yet, it is not commonly treated due to the high price tag put on mental health. Many people can not afford therapy or prescription medications which has led to the search for alternative treatments. With CBD becoming one of the most popular treatments for a variety of conditions from epilepsy to acne, and anxiety the question stands: will this work for me?

    What is CBD?

CBD is a feel-good chemical in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC it is non-psychoactive and won’t create the sensation of being “high”. It will, however, create a feeling of calm and well-being. It is non-addictive and legal in most places. Although it is just one part of many in the cannabis plant it is better known and has more research behind it.

How Can CBD Help Treat Anxiety?

There are many theories as to why CBD is so effective at treating anxiety but research is still in the beginning stages. Although why it is so effective at treating anxiety is unknown that does not stop millions of people from using CBD to treat their symptoms. In a 2019 poll, they found that 14% of Americans use CBD to treat health and mental problems. The Permanente Journal did a study that showed 79% of study participants experienced a reduction of anxiety symptoms. Scientists agree that CBD interacts with serotonin receptors in the brain. It is unknown whether
it actually leads to the creation of more serotonin or changes the body’s response to serotonin that already exists in the brain. The reason that CBD is so effective is still to be discovered but what is, unanimously, agreed upon is that it creates an “anti-stress” feeling that aids in treating anxiety and depression.

    Studies

best cbd for anxietyOne study done in 2018 by a mental health clinic in Colorado studies 47 patients that were struggling with anxiety. They gave each of them 25 mg of CBD a day for 3 months. After the first month, 79.2% of the participants said they saw an improvement in their anxiety. At the end of the study, 78.1% of the people being studied said their anxiety was even better than the first month. One study trusted Source found that people who took 600 milligrams (mg) of CBD experienced significantly less social anxiety than people who took a placebo. Another study trusted Source used a smaller dose of 300 mg, which still reduced levels of anxiety.

What Dose is Right For You

This is the hardest part of beginning your healing journey with CBD. Everyone’s bodies respond differently to this “bliss” molecule so always start off with a lower dose and work your way up. Start with 20mg and see how your body reacts. Some people find this to be the perfect dose and some people find that they may need a bit more to achieve their health goals.

    How To Take CBD

There are so many ways to take CBD it’s about finding the best method for your daily routine.
    • Take CBD Orally: This is the most versatile way to take this natural medication.
    • Capsules: These are extremely easy to integrate into your daily routine. They come pre-dosed and you can take them at the same time as your vitamins in the morning.
    • Edibles: A great option that is also pre-dosed but tastes delicious. These are sold pretty much everywhere and there is a huge selection of flavours. If you want to get creative you can even try your hand at making them yourself.
    • Add it to your meals: This can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. Drizzle it on top of your salad, blend it into your smoothies. Just watch the heat! CBD does not do well when warmed up. It loses its effectiveness and leaves a terrible, bitter taste in your mouth.
    • Sublingually: This is my personal favourite because I can choose how much I would like to take and just hold it under my tongue for 30-60 seconds. This gives you complete control over how much you would like to dose and also bypasses the liver. This means you will feel the effects much more quickly than eating it.
    • Vape or Smoke: Smoking CBD offers the fastest results and the effects can be felt within 10 minutes. The CBD goes directly to the alveoli in the lungs and is rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream. This method is harder to dose and is harsh on the throat and lungs but is proven to help with nicotine addiction.

    The Grapefruit Rule

cbd and anxietyIf you are currently on pharmaceutical medications talk to a doctor about how to best come off of them. Suddenly coming off of them can leave you with terrible withdrawal symptoms and can be worse for your mental health. CBD can also interact poorly with other common medications. A good rule of thumb is to see if the medications you are taking would poorly interact with
grapefruit. This is referred to as the “grapefruit rule”. CBD interacts similarly to citrus with certain medications which can cause overdose or illness. Medications that commonly have grapefruit warnings are:
    • antibiotics and antimicrobials
    • anticancer medications
    • antihistamines
    • antiepileptic drugs (AEDs)
    • blood pressure medications
    • blood thinners
    • cholesterol medications
    • corticosteroids
    • erectile dysfunction medications
    • GI medications, such as to treat GERD or nausea
    • heart rhythm medications
    • immunosuppressants
    • mood medications, such as to treat anxiety, depression, or mood disorders
    • pain medications
    • prostate medications
Anxiety can be deadly and CBD has little to no negative side effects so why not give it a try?
You may find a more natural way to treat the many symptoms of high-stress!
  • How to Use CBD

How To Use CBDCBD has become increasingly popular in recent years and has earned the reputation as the “bliss” molecule. It seems to treat just about everything from epilepsy to acne and anxiety. The way you take your CBD can have different benefits depending on what you are trying to treat.

Not sure what would work best for you? Keep reading to arm yourself with the knowledge to get the most out of this incredible, natural medication.

    What is CBD?

CBD is a feel-good chemical in the cannabis plant. Unlike THC it is non-psychoactive and won’t create the sensation of being “high”. It will, however, create a feeling of calm and well-being. It is non-addictive and legal in most places. Although it is just one part of many in the cannabis plant it is better known and researched.

    How To Shop For CBD

No matter how you decide to use this natural medication there are some things to look for when shopping.

    • Full Spectrum: This is the best option in my opinion. It contains all of the parts of the plant including CBD, THC, and the 180 lesser-known molecules. This creates something called the “entourage” effect. They have been proven to work more effectively as a team than alone.
    • Broad Spectrum: This is perfect for you if you want the benefits of all of the molecules in the cannabis plant without the THC.
    • Isolate: This is an oil with only CBD. They contain 99% pure CBD, making it the most concentrated option. It has been processed to remove everything else. It is usually tasteless, and odorless and works well in skin products.

Most importantly, research the company you’re purchasing from and read reviews. Even better if you can purchase one with third party testing.

    Ingest CBD Orally

This is not only the perfect option for beginners but also for people that want full-body health. Taking CBD orally means that it will take longer to feel the effects since it has to go throughout the digestive tract and liver before it enters the bloodstream. This could take about 2 hours but has longer-lasting effects than other methods. It is the easiest to dose but not the best option if you are looking to target a specific area in your body. This method works best if you are looking to treat anxiety, depression, sleep issues, and arthritis. The biggest positive for this method is that it is the most fun and easy to experiment with.

    • Capsules: Already dosed for you so you can easily add them to your multi-vitamin routine.
    • Edibles: Who doesn’t love candy? What about candy that will help your overall body health? They are easy to make but also widely accessible at dispensaries and online.
    • Add it to Meals: If you are already cooking why not add a few drops of CBD oil in?

    Take CBD Oil Sublingually

This is a more discreet way to take CBD Oil. You place your dose under your tongue and hold it there for at least 60 seconds. This method is more fast-acting than ingesting it as it bypasses the digestive tract. This is my favorite method as it’s extremely simple and fast.

The other option to sublingually taking CBD oil is through a nasal spray. Although it’s applied into the nostril it is still absorbed through the mucus membrane which delivers it in the same way.

    Topical Application

How To Use CBDApplying CBD topically is the perfect option for you when trying to target a specific area. It’s the best way to treat muscle pains and aches as well as to promote skin health. When applied directly to the skin it bypasses the liver and instead is directly absorbed through endocannabinoid receptors that live everywhere in your body. One thing to note is that you will want to find a cream or lotion with a much higher dose of CBD than you would ingest. The skin is not as permeable as the mucous membranes so with topical products you will need more.

Most people will use topical beauty creams, lotions, and lip balms to either keep skin healthy and glowing or to combat body pain. This method is popular with athletes as well as people suffering from arthritis.

Mike Tyson is one of the famous athletes that regularly uses CBD to help with his body pains. He has even developed his own marijuana farm that he’s named the “cannabis resort”. This was his newest CBD project as he already has a line of roll-on relief items named copper gel. His passion can’t help but inspire trust in these athlete-trusted products.

    Smoking or Vaping CBD

There are a few options with this method. You can get a high CBD flower, a vaporizer with CBD oil, or a vape pen that you can use with concentrates. Smoking CBD is the fastest way to get this “bliss” molecule into the bloodstream. Within 10 minutes your body will have absorbed

30-60% of the CBD. The negative, of course, is how it affects the lungs and throat. Many people do not enjoy smoking as it can be harder on the body and may damage lung tissue. On the other hand, it has been proven to be most successful in helping people to quit smoking nicotine.

When smoking or gaping CBD it may affect you more quickly but will not last as long as if taken orally. This just means you may have to smoke more throughout the day to feel lasting effects.

The best way to find out what works best for you is trial. Start off at a lower dose and work your way up to what works well for your body. There is no one fits all as everyone will respond differently. Happy CB-Days!

It is often referred to as the “bliss” molecule. There are many benefits to a variety of mental and physical health issues so why not find a fun way to incorporate it into your daily routine? Most importantly, cannabis is a spice and can be used like paprika or oregano to heighten flavour. Duncan Kwitkor, executive chef/co-owner of Abstract Table in San Francisco believes that “Cannabis can be used simply for its terpenes in a culinary application. One can also pair vaporizable forms of cannabinoid from cannabis — much like one would pair different alcoholic beverages with food. Terpenes can be used to heighten the flavors in dishes, and it has been shown to increase one’s ability to taste food. Lastly, CBD has been shown to relax the body and mind without creating confusion, all of which heightens one’s dining experience.”

    What Does CBD Taste Like?

CBD oils will all have a slightly different taste dependant on factors like the plants age and the strain it was harvested from. Experts will choose the strain and flavour profile that pairs with the dish they are making. The main flavours found in these oils are citrus, pine, earth, and pepper. Getting the flavour pairing right may take some trial and error as well as research into the different strains and products. If you want something a bit more simple to integrate, CBD isolate has no taste at all.

    Tips for Cooking with CBD

Cooking with CBD should be fun but there are some basic rules to using this oil in recipes.
Start with a lower dose: It is always better to start with a smaller dose. Everyone’s bodes react differently and it is a process finding the right amount for you. Start with 10-20mg and work your way up from there. (Or stay there if it works for you).
CBD works better with fats: CBD is fat-soluble, meaning your body will absorb it best with fat-containing foods. This can be anything from oil, to butter.
CBD does not do well at high temperatures: Use a thermometer if you will be heating the oil. Anything over 320 degrees fahrenheit will be too hot. At this point the oil begins to degrade and will not affect your body in the same, positive way. It will also give a terrible, burnt taste to your meal.
Be patient: Adding CBD to your recipes will mean that it has to pass through your gut and liver before entering your blood stream. The effects may take a while to kick in but be patient! You will see benefits within a few hours.

  • CBD: The Key To Healthy Skin

    CBD Healthy Skin

Who doesn’t dream of having flawless, glowing skin? Beauty has become a 532 Billion dollar industry and is still growing each year. With so many people chasing the dream of having clear skin it makes sense that they would turn to this natural anti-inflammatory for a little extra boost. Whether you have an incurable skin condition and are looking for relief or you want to give your skin that extra glow, CBD could be exactly what you have been searching for.

    How does CBD work?

CBD is a natural substance found in marijuana and hemp, and is commonly referred to as the “bliss molecule”. It stimulates the production of an endocannabinoid that your body already produces which is responsible for reducing inflammation, and pain. It doesn’t give the feeling of being “high” while still creating a sense of calm and well-being. This is true whether it’s ingested or applied directly to the skin.

    CBD for Acne-Prone Skin

More than 90% of the population has struggled with acne at some point in their lives. With so many people suffering you think there would be more mainstream solutions that don’t cause the skin to become much worse before it has a chance to heal and become better (If it works). Currently, most treatments contain retinol which leads to dry skin, redness, puffiness, and peeling. Acne can be caused by many things such as excess oil production, clogged pores, and inflammation.

CBD is the perfect natural remedy as it is a known anti-inflammatory that right away helps bring down the redness and irritation to the skin caused by acne. Beyond that, it’s also an amazing moisturizer that can hydrate while regulation the skin’s oil production. CBD oil targets the problem-causing cells, unlike prescription drugs. This means that while your skin is healing you will not experience the same dryness or skin irritation.

    CBD For Aging Skin

Everyone wants to age gracefully. There are always aggressive treatments like facelifts, botox, and plastic surgery which are so popular with ageless celebrities like Madonna. CBD may not be as effective but it is a natural way to make your skin look more youthful. As you age, your skin becomes damaged by the sun, and pollutants which cause it to look dull, ruddy, and wrinkly. CBD counteracts this radical damage which reduces inflammation and keeps your skin hydrated and healthy-looking.

CBD For Skin CBD for Managing Eczema

Eczema is an uncomfortable, itchy skin condition that affects more than 30% of North Americans. It causes the skin to crack, become extremely itchy, and turn red. There is no cure for this painful skin ailment and scientists still aren’t sure what causes it. One theory is that it’s a type of allergic inflammation. This is where CBD shines, it interacts with your endocannabinoid system which is directly responsible for these flare-ups. With its incredible anti-inflammatory and moisturizing effects, it works better than most harsh prescription creams. Another huge benefit of this natural medication is that there are almost no side effects. The only thing you have to lose by trying this alternative treatment is itchy, painful skin.

    CBD To Hydrate Dry Skin

Dry skin is something that a lot of people have to deal with on a daily basis. This may not seem like a huge deal, why not just moisturize? For some people, it doesn’t work as well as the brand promises which can also lead to another problem: over-moisturizing. When you over-moisturize your skin stops producing the healthy oils it needs. This then leads to even more dry skin which comes with itchiness and tightness. CBD oil remedies this with its perfect balance of nutrients which helps nourish your skin. Another benefit is that it doesn’t only prevent your skin from becoming overly oily while also increasing oil production for dry skin. CBD will help bring life back into your skin and make it look healthier than ever. CBD oil

    How to Use CBD Oil

So, like millions of others, you have decided to try out CBD to promote healthy skin. There are a million different ways to utilize this calming molecule into your routine whether in a lotion, rubbed directly onto the skin, cooked into your dinner, or blended into your morning smoothie.

Apply it directly onto your skin: This way is actually the most effective at treating specific problem areas. It’s more fast-acting because it bypasses the liver and is absorbed through endocannabinoid receptors on your skin. If this is the first time you have applied it to your skin always make sure to do a patch test. This will help you avoid any unwanted reactions.

One tested and popular method is to make a CBD oil, and essential oil mixture. This way there is no need to buy expensive lotions and products when you begin experimenting. Follow this recipe and add soothing essential oils that also help with anti-inflammatory issues and feel the difference right away.

    Recipe:

    • 1/4 cup CBD Oil
    • -2tsp melted coconut oil
    • 4-5 drops of essential oil

Ingest it: This is a really fun way! There are so many options. The easiest way is to put the CBD oil directly under your tongue and hold it there for 30 seconds. There are also endless other options from cooking with it or making some sweet treats.

How To Choose The Right CBD for You

Now that marijuana is legal in Canada and parts of America, the stigma around it has dissipated and CBD has become more mainstream. This is still fairly new for us so the regulations around it aren’t as strict as they eventually will be. This means that there are better products to order that will work better for you. Don’t be intimidated, just make sure to do your research. Always read reviews and educate yourself.

  • How to Overcome Stress with CBD, Meditation, and Yoga

If we think about the most prominent thing that marks the 21st century, the answer we get is stress and anxiety. With the rising work pressure and the need to maintain social status, a majority of people are facing stress daily. Do you also feel stressed most of the time? Is it getting difficult for you to cope up with it? Well, you are not alone, but it doesn’t mean you have to keep struggling with it. While there are tonnes of artificial ways to deal with rising stress levels, it is better to opt for natural methods to restore your wellbeing. Here is how CBD, Meditation, and Yoga can get you out of the shackles of stress.

    ● All about the goodness of CBD

How can CBD help overcome stress?

The world is gradually accepting cannabis as a part of their daily lives, and CBD is stealing the limelight. CBD is a chemical compound or cannabinoid that you can find in cannabis plants that is responsible for the therapeutic effects of the plant. It is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid that doesn’t get you high; instead, it counters the psychoactive effects of another famous cannabinoid called THC.

While we were learning basic science in school, we also learned about the human body and the endocannabinoid system. Do you remember it? Well, the endocannabinoid system is a complex structure of cells that regulates how you feel and react to stimuli. It sends signals to the organs and hormones to control basic human processes like memory, appetite, mood, and even reproductive health. The endocannabinoid system produces cannabinoids that bind themselves to the receptors present in the organs and interact with them to induce change.

The cannabinoids produced by your body are very similar to the ones present in cannabis. When you ingest CBD, it attaches itself to the receptors and changes the way you feel. It can reduce stress and anxiety by regulating the receptors present in and around your brain. CBD can even help with insomnia.

    ● How to incorporate CBD into your life?

CBD is a versatile compound, and you can use it as per your preference. The market today is brimming with CBD products, ranging from CBD isolate to CBD oil, from edibles to vape juice and even topicals. While CBD oil is a preferred way to get rid of stress and anxiety, you can also opt for CBD-infused edibles, vapes or capsules. You can get your hands on the best CBD capsules UK, Canada, Florida, and other places where it is legal.

    Invoking the spirituality with meditation

    ● How can meditation help overcome stress?

Stress can take away your mental peace, which can hamper your wellbeing and lead to many ailments. Meditation helps you focus on your thoughts, streamline them, and then eliminate the unnecessary thoughts that cause stress. It helps to declutter the mind and achieve emotional and mental balance. If you think the effect of meditation only lasts while you are practicing it, you are wrong. After a good meditation session, you will feel peaceful and energetic throughout the day. Once you incorporate it in your daily life, you’ll get better at managing stress and anxiety with the help of increased self-awareness.

    ● How to incorporate meditation into your life?

Try to focus your attention on your thoughts or your breathing patterns. If you tend to lose your focus, you can find some online videos that help you undertake guided meditation.

    Establishing the balance with yoga

    ● How can yoga help overcome stress?

While meditation helps restore mental and emotional well being, it lacks the physical aspect. Yoga can help you to focus on all three for overall well being. It is an ancient form of self-development that includes physical postures, ethical disciplines, breathing exercises, and even meditation. Meditation can be an excellent way to combat stress, but practicing yoga can help you maintain mental and physical health. While performing the postures of yoga, you achieve a physical balance and release the tension from your mind with the breathing exercises. Yoga works not just for stress, but it can help you achieve a level of overall fitness and wellbeing. Yoga enhances the quality of life.

    ● How to incorporate yoga in your life?

Yoga is an easy exercise that you can master gradually. As a beginner, you can start by taking help from online videos and tutorials and imitate the postures. All you require is ample space and a yoga mat. There are online apps available today that let you make a customized plan. In the beginning, you can perform yoga 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes and then gradually increase the intensity. Once you step up from the beginner level, it would be wise to practice it under the guidance of an expert.

But if you are facing trouble in keeping up with it on your own, you can always enroll yourself in a yoga class. Performing under a professional’s guidance will help you learn the postures and perform them precisely. Since the classes will have people with all levels of expertise, it will act as an excellent motivator to learn. If you have trouble sticking to the plan, it is best to join the classes with a friend or family member.

  • 5 Ways in Which CBD Helps You with Your Migraine

Of all the excruciating pain that we have to suffer in our daily life, migraine is a prominent one. A migraine is an uncomfortable pain that happens on the head and forehead and is accompanied by vomiting, nausea, and sensitivity to light. Migraines can be the result of specific changes in the brain or family genes.

    Possible causes of Migraine:

    ● As migraine is not a simple issue, there is more than one factor contributing to its occurrence.

    ● Stress, both mental and physical, is described as one of the primary triggers behind migraines. Stress leads to the release of certain chemicals in the brain, which affects the blood vessels, leading to migraine headaches.

    ● Alcohol, aged cheese, and substances like nitrates in food are responsible for almost one-third of migraines.

    ● A sudden increase or pause in caffeine consumption can cause migraines.

    ● Finally, change in your atmosphere (visual, sensory, etc.), weather, temperature, and humidity levels may also result in migraines.

How we treat migraine headaches generally:

Migraine is a prevalent health issue, and there are several conventional methods used by people to cure it. Over the counter drugs that contain caffeine, aspirin, and acetaminophen are popular choices for migraine pain relief. Transcranial magnetic stimulation devices are also gaining traction in migraine pain relief. Users put these devices on the back of the head, and the device leaves a kind of magnetic energy towards the brain, reducing the effect of migraine pain. Managing stress, eating nutritious food, sleeping well, and leading a healthy lifestyle are some other preventive measures which work well for migraine sufferers.

How does CBD come into the picture?

CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is one of the various cannabinoids present in the Cannabis Sativa plant. CBD is a substance with multiple health benefits, especially for people suffering from inflammation and stress. However, recent studies are expanding the scope of CBD usage with every passing day. CBD also gains extra traction for being free of any psychoactive effects and enjoys legal permissibility as well.

Although there are several readymade medications available for migraines, most of them come with side effects. CBD is one such cannabinoid that is free of side effects, and studies suggest that it is an excellent antidote to pain. Here are 5 ways in which CBD can help in Migraines:

    1. CBD Gummies can be an effective solution for inflammation:

The Endocannabinoid System in the human body is responsible for maintaining the body’s internal ecosystem. It does so by regulating the connections between human organs and systems. The Endocannabinoid System controls inflammations and immunity related to the migraines. Research shows that cannabinoids like the CBD do modulate the ECS, which, in turn, helps to keep the different parts of the brain in good shape. The ECS manages several conditions, from inflammation to gut health and stress and migraine. Thus the use of CBD might help regulate conditions like migraines

What’s special about CBD gummies is that they are easy to ingest and come in various flavors.Their popularity comes from their customizability, as one can add other substances to these gummies to increase the strength of the solution.

    2. CBD oil for reducing migraine pain:

CBD oil is a credible remedy for migraine pain. A conventional way of consuming CBD oil is dropping some amount of oil underneath the tongue. CBD oil has given migraine sufferers great results. From ancient times, Cannabis gave great relief to migraine pain, and CBD oil is now acceptable with that legacy.

    3. CBD vapor for quick migraine relief:

There are multiple ways of consuming CBD, such as oil, tinctures, tablets, and gummies. However, CBD vapor is the fastest way to raise the level of CBD in your blood. When you are suffering from a migraine attack, the speed of recovery becomes exceptionally crucial, especially if you are on the move.

In such scenarios, when you are trying to prevent a headache turn into a full-blown migraine, the speed at which CBD vapor reaches the bloodstream can be beneficial for you. CBD vape can also help to lessen Oxidative Stress, which results in migraine relief

    4. CBD for better Gastrointestinal health:

There is a clear link between headaches and gastrointestinal disorders. Reports connect digestive issues with migraines as both of them have some common symptoms like dizziness, vomiting, and abdominal pain. CBD oil, as well as other products made of CBD, are beneficial for digestion. CBD helps in stomach swelling and bloating, and is also beneficial for problems like internal inflammation in the GI tract. By curing issues like nausea and vomiting, CBD can prevent headaches, which may develop into severe migraine pain.

    5. CBD for relaxation and good sleep:

It is a well-known fact that CBD helps in treating issues like stress, anxiety, and insomnia. These issues are also the harbinger of headaches, which can escalate into full-blown migraines. Since CBD is a natural enabler of sleep, it takes care of your body’s hormonal balance and helps in reducing the stress from the brain and body. By making you calmer, CBD ensures that the triggers that cause the migraine attacks do not even come into the scene.

    CBD Dosage:

There are various kinds of CBD products on the market, and all of them have a different dosage.Your required dose will depend on the recurrence of your migraine attacks, your age, taste, and tolerance. However, experts advise starting with a CBD concentration level of around 5 mg daily. If you feel comfortable, you should gradually increase the dosage. If you are one who loves experimenting, you should go with CBD Gummies. If you are confused about choosing the right gummies, find reviews at Herbonaut that describe the gummies in detail. You can also take advantage of the entourage effect by consuming other cannabinoids with CBD, which will enhance the overall impact of the CBD solution.

    Conclusion:

With the recent development of a liberal outlook regarding CBD, new benefits of CBD usage are coming in the open slowly. CBD’s health benefits, combined with the absence of any side effects, make it an excellent proposition for people who suffer from any kind of pain, including migraines. The lack of legal impediments has also worked in favor of CBD as there is greater accessibility, and consumers can choose from an array of products. In any case, you should understand your problems well before opting for any CBD solution, and consult an expert in case of any complications.

  • How to Use Kratom and CBD Oil for Pain Relief

The main selling point of CBD is its apparent lack of psychoactive effects. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), users can leverage the benefits of CBD without suffering any euphoric effects.

Kratom is a plant that belongs to the coffee family, also known by the scientific name Mitragyna Speciosa. Kratom is native to Southeast Asia, where it’s legal, and most people can access it. However, Kratom use is somewhat regulated in various regions around the world. Kratom is a partial opioid agonist. That means it activates certain brain receptors to some extent, which is probably the main reason why some countries and states regulate their use.

CBD and Kratom boast well-documented medicinal properties. Most notably, both substances pack anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. And the best part is – they present minimal-to-zero side effects to the user.

Read on to uncover how to use Kratom and CBD oil for pain relief.

    A bottle of CBD oil

How CBD Oil Works For Pain Relief

To help with pain relief, CBD interacts positively with our endocannabinoid system, though to a subtle degree. When you take CBD in whichever form, the substance activates or inhibits certain compounds within your endocannabinoid system, thereby enhancing your body’s natural ability to numb or alleviate pain. For example, CBD limits inflammation in the brain as well as the nervous system, which may be instrumental for people who experience insomnia, pain, and other pain-related immune conditions.

However, it’s important to note that CBD’s pain alleviation properties have been the subject of debate for some time now. Researchers point out the fact that the substance inhibits the body’s absorption of anandamide, which is a compound associated with pain regulation. By decreasing the levels of anandamide in the bloodstream, a person will likely feel more intense pain for much longer.

But in spite of this argument, there’s an ever-increasing number of people coming forward to laud CBD for its pain-relieving properties.

The following are the possible ways CBD oil helps with pain relief.

    1. Arthritis Pain

CBD oil has been shown to help with arthritis pain. In a study conducted on rats, CBD oil showed remarkable pain relief effects with arthritic cats, without presenting any side effects.

    2. Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis is a debilitating condition that begins in the brain and the nervous system, before spreading through the entire body. It manifests in excruciating muscle spasms. Thankfully, the short-term application of CBD oil infused with Master Kush strain is all it takes to reduce spasticity in patients with MS.

    3. Chronic Pain

The same way CBD oil works for arthritic and MS patients is the similar way it works for patients with chronic pain. Studies conducted around CBD’s potential for relieving chronic pain also discovered that patients were unable to build up a tolerance for CBD’s effects. Therefore, users don’t necessarily need to increase their doses.

To make the most of CBD oil, you’ll need to determine your dosages. Since CBD is largely unregulated, there isn’t sufficient information on the right dosages. Unless you’re using the officially approved CBD substances, such as Epidiolex, always consult your doctor before using CBD oil for pain relief. The doctor will examine your condition and let you know if it’s a great idea to use CBD oil, then they’ll recommend the right dosage for you.

Another thing you must remember is the possible side effects of CBD oil.

    Examples include;

    i. Diarrhea,

    ii. Lethargy,

    iii. Changes in appetite,

iv. Weight gain or weight loss,

    v. Adverse interactions with certain medications, and

vi. Negative interactions with certain enzymes, such as cytochrome P450 complex.

    Kratom Use for Pain Relief

Kratom is quite effective for pain relief, primarily due to its partial opioid agonist properties.

Like CBD, Kratom is largely unregulated. That means the right dosages depend on the physiological and psychological dependence of the user. The convention is to experiment with smaller doses and then work your way up till you achieve the optimal dose for you.

There are numerous ways you can administer Kratom for pain relief, ranging from taking the powder form to swallowing pills or even mixing it into your food. However, remember that Kratom is most effective if you take it on an empty stomach.

Unlike CBD, Kratom comes with numerous side effects. But as you shall find, these side effects depend on the dosage and the mode of administration. Dosages administered orally tend to present the most side effects. Examples include constipation, dry mouth, nausea and vomiting, hallucinations, frequent urination, aggressive and delusional behaviors, and thyroid problems. If you notice any of these problems, you should experiment with lower doses or stop its use temporarily and consult a doctor. If you continue using Kratom regardless, you might develop even more severe complications, such as liver damage, seizures, difficulty breathing, brain inflammation, and even death.

There’s also the question of legality. Always check with your local authorities if Kratom is legal within your jurisdiction.

Since both CBD oil and Kratom are used for pain relief, combining the two creates a powerful synergy. CBD oil works by increasing the cannabinoids in the body’s ECS, while Kratom increases endorphins. Each of these activities results in significant alleviation of inflammation and other causes of bodily pains.

To use these substances together for pain relief, you’ll first need to buy them from a reputable vendor and then establish your optimal dosage. That would require using each substance separately until you establish a dosage that works best for you. If you’re in doubt, start with anywhere between 2 – 6 grams of Kratom. As for CBD, the dose will depend on the brand and the concentration of CBD oil in the product. Either way, you’ll need to try it out first to find your perfect dosage.

Lastly, combine the two substances depending on your optimal doses for each one of them. You don’t have to take both substances together for pain relief as that could present risks of overdose. Your best bet is to alternate them regularly throughout the day.

Both CBD and Kratom are highly effective for pain relief. But whichever substance you go for, ensure you understand all of its ingredients and any possible side effects. Above all, always establish to begin small as you try to establish a dose that works best for your pain-relief needs.

  • 5 Times the Media Wrongly Bashed Cannabis

    cannabis

For years, these narratives were happily passed from homes to offices, to schools and every part of the society in a bid to prevent the society from having anything to do with the substance. As expected, the media is the best platform to use for this propaganda, and they have done their fair share of the job meritoriously in the past years so much that anyone who hears the word cannabis, only thinks of horror, hazard, and negativity.

Any member of the society who uses cannabis in any form is viewed as an outcast and sometimes, highly dangerous to the sanity of the society. It’s important to also stress the fact that individuals who are caught with cannabis are termed criminals by the law and are treated as such on virtually all occasions. Yes, it is that serious.

Looking back and going by the current realities, is it safe to say the society has been erroneous about its stands on cannabis in the past? We think it has been a clear and obvious error, and the mainstream media owes an apology to the public for not carrying out enough research about cannabis in the past before getting on that strong propaganda against it. It’s not just about the ill-treatment those who have dared to use it have suffered, but it is also the fact that the society has been prevented from enjoying a lot of the immense health benefits that come with cannabis for decades. The truth is, some of the ailments that have taken several lives could have been properly taken care of through the use of cannabis. Let us quickly highlight a few of the immense health benefits that come with cannabis below.

    Health Benefits of Cannabis

Here are some of the health benefits of cannabis.

    Treatment of chronic pain.

Cannabis prevents diabetes according to researches.

    It helps in treating depression.

    It helps in reducing anxiety.

    Cannabis fights cancer.

    Cannabis helps in preventing obesity.

Now, these are just a few of the health benefits that come with the use of cannabis in any of its form. We could clearly see that, this substance would have helped in the treatment of a lot of ailments in the past had it been taken more seriously and not victimized needlessly by the mainstream media.

In the light of the current realities, let us look back at five times the media have wrongly bashed cannabis.

5 Times the Media Wrongly Bashed Cannabis

The Use of Cannabis would Increase Crime

One of the most popular propaganda by the media is that the use of cannabis would increase crime rate and threaten the security of the society. Now, how true is that? It must be said that initially, they seem to have a point as they were able to present some isolated cases involving some individuals who use cannabis at the time. However, looking at the bigger picture, this is a blatant lie and it doesn’t even hold in any sense. Cannabis doesn’t make anyone take to crime, especially when taken in the right dosage. Statistics have also shown that crime rates have reduced drastically in states that have legalized the use of cannabis when compared to the rate before it was legalized.

The Use of Cannabis Causes Road Accidents

The media has also said the use of cannabis is one of the main causes of road accidents. They cite hyper activities, anxiety and violent behaviors of the users as the main reasons why they are likely going to be involved in road accidents as against people who don’t use the substance. However, recent studies and revelations have proven those allegations to be untrue. In fact, cannabis helps in reducing anxiety and pressure and helps people in making better decisions. Statistics have also shown in recent years that there is a considerable drop in the rate of road accidents in states that have legalized cannabis compared to states that are still against it.

The Use of Cannabis Makes People Unproductive and Lazy

Another stick the media has used in beating cannabis in the past is that people who use cannabis are outrightly dumb, lazy and unproductive, which is not what the society needs. Now, looking back, this is an utter lie which no sane mind should even believe. It’s possible that some users of cannabis are dull and uninspiring, but it is like that in every part of life, cannabis or not. What is a fact and cannot be ignored is, the use of cannabis actually inspires and don’t make anyone unproductive. As a matter of fact, a lot of people who use cannabis have been found to be creative geniuses. Some of them have come up with great inventions and thousands of them are doing considered geniuses in the entertainment industry and other walks of life.

The Use of Cannabis would lead People to Other Drugs

The media has also said the use of cannabis would be a gateway to other drugs which is bad for the society. We understand the sympathy of the media for the society, but this is also wrong. Now, all substances can be abused when there is no proper information and guidelines as to how to use them, and one abuse leads to others. But, this is not only limited to cannabis and it is just utterly wrong to make this about it. The media itself has prevented the society from knowing exactly how to use cannabis and what proper dosage is good for the users through their full blown war against it. If this has been addresses initially, cannabis would have been like another aspirin or antibiotics since it would be regulated, and we wouldn’t even be talking of it being a gateway to other drugs except we want to make the same case for aspirin or the other legal drugs.

Legalization of Cannabis Paints the Nation in Bad Light

When the conversations about legalizing cannabis fist came up, the media came up with a weak argument that legalizing the substance in any form would portray the country in a bad light. Now, this is coming from a media that has no problem with alcohol, and we are all well aware that cannabis is even better than alcohol in its current form, not to talk of when it becomes regulated and refined. Also, Canada has legalized all forms of Cannabis and we can’t hear of anyone talking ill about the country.

As of the time of writing this article, eleven states in the United States have legalized the use of cannabis already, and we expect a lot more to follow in the coming months as the public deserves the amazing health benefits that comes with it.

  • Tips On Spotting Fake Cannabis

And the reason for this stems from the fact that cannabis is a substance that has been tagged illegal and banned in so many countries of the world; only a few countries such as Uruguay and Canada have legalized this substance for recreational use in their countries.

    Demand And Supply Of Cannabis

Asides from these two countries (Canada and Uruguay) and some 10 states of the United States of America which include California, Vermont, Nevada, Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, Maine, Washington DC, Massachusetts and Washington State; cannabis is termed as “illegal” and “bad” in cities and countries all around the world.

And because of the ban placed on the purchase, selling, and usage of cannabis; there is an improper ratio as regards the buying and selling of cannabis in these countries with cannabis ban.

For every 50 users/buyers you find, there are less than 5 sellers/suppliers of this substance; and because of this, the demand for cannabis is so high than the supply.

Asides from the ban, the other reason for the scarcity of cannabis is the high demand for cannabis for medicinal usage; such as in the production of drugs and medicines for the cure of muscle spasms, glaucoma, inflammations, and other health challenges.

In the same vein, cannabis is hugely demanded the manufacturing of beauty products, such as hair shampoos, hair creams, hair conditioners, hair serums, skin cream, skin masks, and skin serums.

    Introduction To Fake Cannabis

Due to the low supply and high demand for cannabis, there is an introduction of a different variant of cannabis into the market; an adulterated, fake and harmful version of cannabis.

Also known as Synthetic Cannabis, this fake version of cannabis came about as a result of the craving of different individuals, cannabis merchants and companies to make up for this shortage of supply, and ultimately make money from unsuspecting cannabis buyers and users.

    Fake Cannabis; An Overview

Fake cannabis (or synthetic cannabis) is an artificial mix of different types of plants which include grasses, herbs, and leaves that are not cannabis at all. Therefore, in order to make it look like cannabis and to duplicate the same “highness” that cannabis gives, this fake cannabis is sprayed with chemicals that are harmful to the body, and packaged in attractive labels and packs, to sell to unsuspecting buyers; and the common brands of fake cannabis include Black Mamba, Sexy Monkey, Spice, Kush, Joker, and K2.

Effects Of Fake Cannabis To The Body

Fake Cannabis affects the same brain cell receptors that real cannabis affects: and it also makes the consumer feel relaxed and high as cannabis does.

But the difference remains that fake cannabis causes the following negative reactions in the body of the consumers; trouble breathing, vomiting, hallucination, convulsion, nausea, stroke, loss of concentration/consciousness, anxiety, heart attack, psychotic break down, paranoia, kidney damage, and death.

How To Differentiate Between Fake Cannabis And Real Cannabis

The truth is that there is so much fake cannabis in the market right now than real cannabis. And this is because the fake version is easy to manufacture in large quantities and they are so cheap.

This is why cannabis consumers need to be careful of what they buy and consume, lest they fall prey to dubious sellers and suppliers.

Asides from the side effects which consumers experience after smoking fake cannabis; some attributes differentiate the real cannabis from fake cannabis.

    The first thing that sets the difference between the real and the fake, is the attractive wrappers/packs that the fakes are sold in and the suspicious “not for human consumption” and “natural” labels that come with the wrappers; but asides from the wrappers, here are the best ways to spot a fake cannabis quickly;

    * First and foremost, fake cannabis is finely cut and smooth to touch, unlike the real one that has lots of buds.

    * Also, fake cannabis is greenish-brown in color while the original is lime green or purple in color.

    * In addition, real cannabis contains stems, buds, and leaves, while the fake version looks more like grasses, hay, and flowers.

    * Furthermore, fake cannabis is sticky to touch and doesn’t crumble easily unlike the real one.

    * Finally, real cannabis smells organic and fresh; just like the earth, while the fake smells and tastes like chemicals.

Knowing how to spot fake cannabis is a good start to healthy cannabis consumption; but to be on the safe side, it is better to have a steady and trustworthy supplier that you buy from.

This will help save you from a lot of supply troubles, and also help you avoid ingesting/using the bad cannabis that is detrimental to one’s health.

  • Six Ailments That Can Be Alleviated With Cannabis

Although highly prohibited in most parts of the world, cannabis has been recorded to be one of the most fought against drugs with a high level of medicinal potentials. Over time, continuous research of the cannabis plant has revealed that cannabis has more medicinal advantages to humanity for it to remain prohibited.

    Some ailments that can be cured by the cannabis plant in the form of medical marijuana include the following;

    ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE

Alzheimer’s disease is a mental ailment in which a patient progressively suffers from memory loss, and also experiences a decline in other mental functions. This is as a result of the clumping effect of a protein called beta-amyloid in the brain. Although Alzheimer’s has no cure, medical cannabis can slow down the symptoms of Alzheimer to the barest minimum. By utilizing the amount of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in cannabis, the production of beta-amyloid can result in the proper management of Alzheimer’s disease.

    MENSTRUAL CRAMPS

Although not necessarily considered a disease, menstrual cramps comfortably pass as the most common health issue faced by women.

Studies have shown that women who consume cannabis do not experience as much pain during their menstrual periods as those who do not consume cannabis. Cannabis has calming effects that can help to reduce menstrual cramps.

American actress, Whoppi Goldberg recently founded a medical cannabis family that encourages women to expel menstrual cramps with some products from her company. Her company has a range of products such as; sipping chocolates, bath soaks, balms, and tinctures which are all infused with medical cannabis. These products aim to help reduce the pain experienced during menstrual periods.

    HIV/AIDS

Human immunodeficiency virus(HIV) is a virus that breaks down the immune system of a carrier. On the other hand, an Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome(AIDS) is a full-blown progressed stage of HIV. Symptoms of HIV/AIDS include; fever, sore throat, weight loss, cough, bodily sores and swellings, oral thrush, fatigue, and persistent diarrhea.
Many patients who have been diagnosed to have HIV/AIDS have confirmed that administering medical cannabis has helped them manage the symptoms of the disease much better. Medical cannabis has been proven to help reduce body pain that comes with HIV/AIDS. It also improves the weight of an HIV/AIDS patient, reduces neuropathic pain to the barest minimum and reduces a patient’s level of anxiety and depression. With regular consumption of cannabis, a patient’s mood gets relatively better than usual.

    EPILEPSY AND SEIZURES

Epilepsy is a medical condition in which nerve cell activity in the brain is disturbed, causing seizures. Usually caused by brain tumors, genetic conditions like tuberous sclerosis and infections such as meningitis and encephalitis. In recent years, it has been making news headlines that cannabis reduces the level of seizures experienced by epilepsy patients. Parents of young epilepsy patients have been advocating for the use of medical marijuana as it makes their children deal with the medical condition better. In 2015, researchers at new york university found a 50% decrease in the frequency of seizures for people using medical cannabis.

    CANCER

Cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth with the potential to spread to other parts of the human body. Also known as a malignant tumor, early symptoms include; body lumps, bleeding, hoarseness and stubborn sores that won’t heal.

A study on animals has confirmed that Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) suppresses cancer cells, and improved the effect of radiation on cancer cells. Although restrictions on the use of cannabis to treat cancer are still active, most desperate patients have fallen back to it as a last resort to help in the treatment of cancer. A four-year-old boy- William Frost is one of such patient who has seen improvements after making use of medical cannabis. William was dying of brain cancer when his parents desperately resorted to cannabis. The result was a reduction in the size of the tumor in his brain. As a result of the recent discovery of its tumor shrinking abilities as seen in the case of William frost, the medical community has decided to do more research; to find out if cannabis can cure cancer. Apart from brain cancer, cannabis can also be used to treat other types of cancer such as skin cancer, leukaemia, and prostate cancer.

    RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

Rheumatoid arthritis is a progressive autoimmune illness that causes inflammation, severe pain, stiffness and swelling of the joints and other organs of the body. The body’s immune system attacks the joints, mistaking it for a foreign body. Research by the Department Of Immunology at the National Institute of Neuroscience in Tokyo has discovered that cannabis has potent-immunomodulatory effects on the body. This discovery has fueled more research on how cannabis can help reduce the effects of rheumatism. Cannabis also goes a long way to soothe the pain in the joints of a patient going through rheumatoid arthritis. .

In addition to the health conditions that have been highlighted above, other medical health conditions that can be cured by cannabis include; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), loss of appetite, glaucoma, schizophrenia, Crohn’s disease and wasting syndrome (cachexia)..

However, not minding the medicinal advantages that cannabis tends to have in medical science, strict laws that restrict its consumption is still in existence in many countries like America, Afghanistan, Japan, Hong Kong, and most African countries.

The reason why cannabis is illegal is that most world leaders are only aware of the disadvantages of cannabis.

The most popular belief is that cannabis is a psychoactive drug that has the potentials of influencing its consumers to fall prey to other dangerous drugs. .

On the other hand, the advantages of making use of cannabis as a medical solution to different health issues are indisputable. With lesser laws surrounding its usage, medical scientists will feel more open to doing more research on it.
